Mineral sunscreens reflect UV light, while chemical sunscreens absorb it and convert it to heat. Mineral sunscreens stay on the skin’s surface and are less likely to cause allergies, whereas chemical ones can penetrate the skin and trigger reactions.

What makes your mineral sunscreens different than other mineral sunscreens?

CōTZ mineral sunscreens are known for their light, silky feel and nearly invisible look on the skin. Using only top-quality ingredients, they provide excellent protection in formulas that are a pleasure to wear.

Are your products reef-safe?

All CōTZ products meet Reef Friendly guidelines, meaning they are 100% free of the chemical sunscreen actives Oxybenzone and Octinoxate, as well as all other chemical sunscreen actives.

Are your sunscreens non-nano?

CōTZ sunscreens use a blend of particle sizes to create a barrier that reflects and refracts UV rays. Some particles start nano-sized but are coated with inert ingredients, making the Titanium and Zinc Oxide non-nano in the final product.

What gives the CoTZ tinted sunscreens their color? Do you use dyes?

CōTZ products do not contain dyes or fragrances. The tint in our tinted products comes from Iron Oxide, a natural mineral ingredient.
