Is Solara vegan and cruelty-free? Reef-friendly?

Yes! All of our products are vegan and cruelty-free. We not only avoid reef-harming chemical screens, but also what we feel are the top offenders in skin- and earth-disrupting ingredients found in many sunscreens.

Are your products gluten-free?

While we do not use gluten, we cannot claim they are Gluten-Free because our raw materials and our manufacturing facility are not guaranteed without gluten or potential gluten cross-contamination.

You don’t use fake fragrance, so why do some of your products smell so good?

We use a custom combination of plant extracts and oils to achieve the scent in the products we’ve designated “naturally scented.” We believe synthetic fragrances can be irritating to sensitive skin, and the majority of our products are unscented.

Are your sunscreens safe for children?

Yes! We created Solara to solve a need for our own children’s sensitive skin. Per the FDA guidelines, sunscreen is meant for children 6 months or older and you should always consult your pediatrician before sun exposure and sunscreen use.

Are all of your products thoroughly tested?

Absolutely! Not only do we test our products for efficacy, stability, SPF value, Broad Spectrum and Water Resistance (when applicable), we also test for skin irritation. We created these products for our family, so we take it very seriously.
