I was excited to try these because of the “gel” description, but they’re more of a soft crayon texture than a true gel pen. As someone who has worn eyeliner for many years in just about every form, I was a little disappointed by the misleading marketing. That said, the product itself is lovely—goes on smoothly, blends easily, and comes in a fun variety of colors that work for eyeliner or even as an eyeshadow base. They aren’t completely smudge-proof, but that also can be a plus if you like a smoky, blended look. They are not very big (like lipstick size) but I usually like to switch out eye makeup every 6 mos or so anyway. Overall, a good set if you know what you’re getting.

It glides on smoothly, which I like for quick application. But the colors aren’t that pigmented, needing a few layers for a bold line. It also wipes off easily, even though it’s supposed to be smudge proof, so it doesn’t last through my workday.
