So far I really like this cream!! It is very moisturizing and I can definitly feel a oil/lotion barrier on my skin after I apply it and even after I wash my hands. It does have a strong herbal scent (I'm not sure if that is from the chamomile or something else) so if you are sensitive to smells or don't like herbal scents than this might not be for you. I for one enjoy the scent. The cream is very thick and I'd say you need a moderate amount (approx 2-3 pea size drops for your hands) so while the smaller tubes are great for stashing in important locations or carrying it along with you, you may find that you go through a bottle rather fast. It does absorb into the skin well and you don't feel super greasy but there is definetly still a "filmy" feeling. This does not bother me but I am careful not to touch my acne prone face or do my hair after applying the cream.
As for the effectiveness, I currently live in a very dry, chilly, mountain climate (Above 7,000 ft and about 40-60 degrees F) and I tend to wash my hands frequently with hot water. Even though I am only in my late 20's my hands are always dry and my cuticles are terrible! Regular use of this cream is effective for most of my skins needs but my cuticles are still very dry so unfortunately it isn't a miracle worker. I have used many of the specially formulated drugstore hand creams (neutragena, nivia, aquafor, gold bonds, etc.) and have also used pure organic Shea butter religiously, and nothing has helped as much as this cream. I'm still on the look out for the holy grail of hand cream but for now this is the best!
