Are Utu products vegan?

Our SPF30 moisturizing sunscreen is vegan. Our SPF50 Sunscreen-Stiq contains beeswax, which is a non-vegan ingredient, and therefore we cannot classify it as vegan. Nonetheless, both products are cruelty-free.

What skin type is Utu made for?

Utu products are formulated to be safe and appropriate for all skin types, regardless of gender or race. We recommend that you seek guidance from your dermatologist if you have questions or concerns about using specific products.

Are Utu products safe to use whilst pregnant/nursing?

We adhere to all mandatory guidelines to ensure the safety of our products for all. However, if you have concerns regarding your health, we strongly recommend consulting your primary care doctor.

What ingredients are Utu products made WITHOUT?

We NEVER use chemical UV filters, parabens, PEGS, phthalates, silicone, petrolatum, synthetic fragrance, sulfates, phosphates or formaldehyde. All our products are reef-safe, with NO chemical SPF filters like oxybenzone or octinoxate.

Do Utu products contain fragrance?

No, we currently do not use fragrance in our products.

WHAT IT IS: Utu’s Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Moisturizing Sunscreen is specially formulated to protect and nourish your skin from the harsh elemental stressors encountered outdoors: UVA + B radiation, temperature extremes, wind, altitude, and saltwater.
WHAT IT DOES: Each skincare active in our formula is carefully chosen to deliver unique benefits. Squalane works wonders, soothing and hydrating your skin, leaving it soft and smooth. Sea buckthorn promotes skin hydration and soothes irritation often caused by temperature and wind exposure.
WHY WE LOVE IT: No white cast, unscented, non-comedogenic, no eye burn, reef-safe, water + sweat resistant up to 40 min.
HOW TO USE: 15 minutes before going out in the sun apply directly to face & body, massaging it gently into skin until all visible traces have disappeared. Reapply every 2 hours, or every 40 minutes if swimming, surfing, or sweating. Remember: Sunscreen should be the final step in your skincare routine before applying makeup.
